I am a British applied mathematician, currently working at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute in Basel, Switzerland.

If you want to learn more about my work, have a look at my research pages and my list of publications.

Research background

I'm interested in Bayesian statistics, dynamical systems (and particularly identifying them from limited and/or noisy data), time series, Gaussian processes, Monte Carlo methods and machine learning.

Most of my work involves implementing and testing algorithms numerically, for which I mainly use Python, R and MATLAB.  I plan to write about some of the specific tools I use on my blog.
